Day 2- Spice up your oatmeal

I knew oatmeal was a healthy food to eat but I always forced myself to like it. It wasn’t until I was broke as hell and had random odds and ends and a huge box of oatmeal in my pantry. I was too hungry not to eat it so I started experimenting.
Turns out you can actually make it taste really good!

Here a just a few ways to “spice” up your oatmeal.

Start off by putting 2 parts water to 1 part oatmeal-adjust as necessary
(I do 1/2 cup oatmeal to 1 cup and a bit of water)

Try out:
Tropical Fusion– shredded coconut, dried or fresh mango, kiwi, macadamias
Fall for Autumn- pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, pumpkin seeds
Classic apple and cinnamon– sauteed (optional) apple and cinnamon
Banana bliss– banana, almonds, small dark chocolate chips

*note* fresh fruit (excluding apples or bananas) can be added after the cooking process

Add ingredients to a saucepan on med until cooked to the consistency you prefer.

that’s it! so easy and so yummy!
