Day 2- Spice up your oatmeal

I knew oatmeal was a healthy food to eat but I always forced myself to like it. It wasn’t until I was broke as hell and had random odds and ends and a huge box of oatmeal in my pantry. I was too hungry not to eat it so I started experimenting.

Day 1- Homemade tomato sauce

I made this post into a video. Its a very simple recipe and is a base for recipes coming up throughout the 30 day challenge. I froze this batch in a few 1cup, 4cups, and ice cube trays. This allows me to use what I need and know exactly how much Im using with out thawing out the whole batch.

So a friend of mine had said to me that the hardest part of becoming healthy was thinking of healthy things to eat.
Its so easy when your so used to the same things and same old routine. Its hard to crack and think “outside the box”
This Month I’m going to be sharing some recipes for different meals that are healthy AND tasty.
Everyday I will post what I’m doing and cooking for myself to become a healthier happier person. Now I work 6 days a week so If I can cook all these items (and post them) there is no excuse for you to cop out and head to Wendy’s. I challenge you to follow with me and try these recipes out. they are easy and practical.

I Did It! My first running event!

I did it!
As part of my September goals (Click here to see the post), I set myself to run the CIBC run for the cure on Sept 30th…which was TODAY!
I was really nervous last night and this morning. I had knee surgery last Nov. so I never thought I could actually participate in these events…like ever. As I began going to the gym and testing out my ability I came to the realization that I was able to run! In realizing this I decided what better way to start running again than to participate in this amazing event. Continue reading
